On June 26^th the Chelan City Council voted unanimously to provide up to $20,000 in matching funds for a location study to determine the best physical and economic site for the regional aquatics and community center.  It was determined by Charles Sablan, Chelan Parks and Recreation Director, that a location study would cost from $35,000 - $40,000.  His research was based on similar studies done in the communities of Grandview, Selah and Yakima.  The independent determination of the best possible site is the crucial component to finalizing costs and creating an effective Capital Funding Plan.  We are eager to complete the study so the effort may continue to move forward without delay.
