We, the Lake Chelan Aquatics & Community Center Committee (LCACCC), have identified ourselves as a proactive volunteer organization representing Lake Chelan Valley residents and surrounding communities and are committed to the research, design and building of the Chelan Aquatics and Community Center.
WE BELIEVE:
1. The CACCC is working directly on behalf of the citizens of the Lake Chelan Valley who identified an Aquatics/Community Center as the highest priority in two independent needs assessments, conducted in 2003.
2. The benefits of this facility are far-reaching: swimming, exercising, family time, socializing, training, competing, gathering, relaxing, meeting new friends, learning new things. These activities will benefit not only Chelan residents, but our neighboring communities from Brewster to Wenatchee.
3. The following site considerations are important to the success of the Aquatics & Community Center project: FINANCIAL feasibility, AFFORDABILITY of land, YEAR-ROUND community use, SPACE for parking and future expansion, ACCESS to bus routes and trails, COMPATIBILITY with the neighborhood, LAKE VIEWS and ACCESS.
4. The CACCC project will deliver a facility that will become a gathering place where neighbors, residents and guests can safely meet and connect, enriching the lives of residents, neighbors and guests.
WE ARE COMMITTED TO:
1. Making every effort to ensure that the Aquatic & Community Center is a self- supporting entity.
2. Working with healthcare facilities, governmental agencies, education districts, the community to complete this project.
